What is the Room of Silence?
The Room of Silence is a project of the non-profit Institute for Compassion Heidelberg. It is an offer for the 'community', for everyone local. We would like to invite you to pause in the noisy, busy everyday life to look inward and listen.
This is also basically the idea of the Institute for Compassion. Since 2020, we have launched numerous and diverse projects, all of which have one thing in common: to invite and inspire people to get in touch with themselves - to turn the focus from the outside to the inside, to take a step back from what is raining down on us on the outside and perhaps even from our own thoughts and feelings.
The quieter you become, the more you can hear.
Ram Dass
In the Room of Silence, we offer you a lovingly designed quiet and protected room during our opening hours, which you can use to find peace and quiet without distraction. The space itself has its own calm vibe that helps you relax and become quieter inside as well.
In the daily Silent half Hour you have the opportunity to take part in a simple meditation together with other people with a small instruction and then exchange ideas if you like.
Feel free to come in, listen to your own thoughts, turn your gaze inwards and see what silence does to you.
Admission is free of charge.
